Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one titles have been achieved on hard courts
A comeback Daniil Medvedev secured his first title for over two years with success over opponent Moutet in the competition championship match.
Medvedev, a ex- number one, has experienced a challenging period, achieving just a single victory at the major tournaments and undergoing a meltdown at the American major.
Medvedev's inconsistency on the professional circuit - and difficulties with his service game in particular - resulted in him exiting of the elite rankings and ultimately separating with long-term coach his previous coach.
Presently working with Johansson and his other coach, the tennis star has steadily progressed in the past month - peaking in a closely contested competitive triumph over Frenchman Moutet.
It is Medvedev's maiden title after the Italian tournament and first on a hardcourt after that period of 2023.
Victory also indicates he has won twenty-one titles at 21 different competitions.
"It's the first time I am participating in a tournament with my both daughters simultaneously, so to win a title is really nice," stated world number 14 Daniil Medvedev.
"This championship is in dedication of my child Victoria, because the initial championship I achieved when my child her name was delivered was for her."
The tennis star, the former major winner, had lost his last six championship matches, comprising in Halle earlier this year.
The player's retrieving strategy and regular outbursts on the tennis court had caused observers to doubt if his skill to perform at the elite level was over.
Yet the 29-year-old has made changes in the past month, making an effort to approach the net and perform aggressively, reinforced by an enhanced serving game.
He came back from a break down in the initial set against the challenging opponent, taking 4 of the final five games to gain the advantage.
Both players exchanged service breaks in the middle set before the Frenchman, striving for his initial ATP Tour championship, took control to force a final set.
Moutet saved four early-game opportunities in a close third set before Medvedev broke to fifteen to secure the win.
Fittingly, Medvedev clinched the title with a shot at the front of the court, with the Frenchman failing to handle a shot after over two and a half hours.
