'Treat game'
Mary Prior KC, handling the case, outlined Ruben's offending to the judicial body.
She explained his those affected were disadvantaged youngsters who were staying at a summer camp which he managed.
The defendant engaged in a "treat game" with the minors, the prosecutor explained, in which he would access the boys' rooms when they were getting ready for bed and ask them to consume candy "as fast as possible".
She informed the proceedings Ruben had played this game with the young males "repeatedly", and youngsters had earlier experienced illness the following morning.
She said Ruben had been capable of justifying this for many years as the youngsters being "overstimulated by activities", until his stepchild had suspicions in recently.
The prosecutor stated further: "Recently" his family member had concerns about what was going on, for good reason.
"They decided to examine in the defendant's belongings."
The prosecutor said objects including lubricant, ointment and injection devices were discovered, and his family member contacted the police about his suspicions.
She said the defendant went on to conduct the "treat game" with six boys that night - July 26th - and they were all sick the subsequent day.
"Law enforcement" had not gone out by that point," she continued.
The police watchdog, the police conduct office, earlier informed that it was examining Leicestershire Police's handling of the incident.
Mrs Prior explained the minors were struggling to walk due to being ill, so Ruben's stepson notified the authorities again.
She said Ruben then conducted the "treat game" in a room of five youngsters.
